Rebecca Mukite is a Telecommunications Engineer with more than 12 years of experience in various fields of the industry, such as radio frequency spectrum planning and monitoring, technical licensing evaluation, communications, public relations, and international relations.

Her career started with regulatory-level RF spectrum planning and monitoring, where she gained expertise in managing and assessing complex technical data. From there, she progressed into technical licensing evaluation, where she was responsible for evaluating license applications and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Rebecca's skillset further expanded into public and international relations in the telecommunications industry. She has significant experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, managing media relations, and building consensus on complex issues related to ICT public policy and regulation. This experience has given her a deep understanding of the vital role technology plays in enabling economic growth and development.
Throughout her career, Rebecca has shown an unwavering commitment to excellence and a passion for advancing the telecommunications industry.

John currently serves as the Managing Partner at Side B Group, an asset management firm specializing in early-stage risk within African technology. He boasts two decades of experience in the East African investment landscape, with a background encompassing work and residence in emerging markets such as the Czech Republic, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Side B Group's primary focus lies in investment management, where they operate a $100 million early-stage technology fund dedicated to Africa with ambitions to become the continent's largest early-stage backer, managing $1 billion in assets under management (AUM) by 2030.

Prior to his tenure at Side B, John's career included roles at Amani Partners, the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC, now Development Finance Corporation -DFC), USAID's Development Credit Authority (DCA), and large NGOs involved in housing, media, broadcasting, and international development.

John's educational background comprises a BA in Agricultural Resource Economics and Statistics from UC Davis in California, an MBA in Finance from George Washington University's School of Business, and an MA in International Affairs from George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs. Beyond his professional achievements, he's a father of two, a loving partner, and considers East Africa his home.

Rita has built an impressive track record of transforming startup ecosystems at a national level. She focuses on capacity building, policy advice, and research and development to drive innovation and create sustainable communities for startups.

Currently, as the National Coordinator for the Youth Startup Academy Uganda at the International Trade Centre (ITC), Rita leads a collaborative effort between ITC, KOSME, NITA-U, and Hive Colab to enhance Uganda's startup ecosystem.

Sander Glas is a Programme Officer at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), an international financial institution and UN-specialized agency dedicated to food and agriculture. He leads the Uganda portfolio of investments in private equity funds and financial institutions, and capacity-building for agribusinesses. He previously worked on development finance policy at UN Headquarters and the World Bank CFO’s Office and also launched the blended finance and SME capacity-building platform Aceli Africa. He is a capital markets lawyer by training and a dual Belgian-American citizen.

Jonathan Adengo is a seasoned Public Affairs expert, currently serving as the Public Affairs Manager for American Tower Corporation (ATC) Uganda.

With over 11 years of diverse industry experience in Media, Banking, Energy, and Telecommunications, he has a sustained record of success in PR, Communications, and business operations. Jonathan's career highlights include spearheading Sustainability Reporting at Umeme Limited and being a two-time finalist of the PAN African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards.

He is known for his strategic skills in managing PR for blue-chip companies and media and stakeholder relations for reorganizations like Umeme and ATC Uganda. He has previously worked with Nation Media Group, Corporate Image, WMC Africa and Umeme.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce in finance and holds a Certificate in Sustainability Reporting, a Certificate in Conflict Sensitive Reporting, and training in Journalism and Media Studies.

He is a member of the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU).

An economist with a Masters in Economics Policy and Management (MA-EPM) currently the IT Services Expert at the National Information Technology Authority of Uganda (NITA-U).

As part of his job provides tailored IT advisory support to different government ministries, departments, and agencies and supports business process re-engineering and automation. He also serves as the strategic link between NITA-U and stakeholders.
With over 10 years of professional work experience in public service, Joshua has served in multiple capacities at NITA-U, he previously served as the Business Process Analyst, Research and Innovation lead, and Applications Solutions Architect.

Joshua is a member of the European Union (EU) Technical Working Group on Governance and Corruption under the Sustainable Business 4 Uganda (SB4U) project. Joshua Akandwanaho has extensive knowledge and expertise in ICT4 development, managing Innovation ecosystems, and designing and implementing e-government projects.

A believer in the power of Digital in transforming lives and inclusion. Joshua is leading different public offices to harness 4IR technologies in Big data science, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and intelligent automation for insight generation purposed to solve the country’s toughest digital public challenges.

Joshua has designed and helped in the implementation of World Bank projects some of which include the Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (RCIP) and Uganda Digital Acceleration Program (UDAP). He led a World Bank consulting firm to design and build a blueprint for Uganda the Uganda Innovation Centre of Excellence (ICOE) Business and Strategic Plan.

James Byaruhanga is the General Manager of Raxio Data Centre and has been at the forefront of designing, building, operating, and maintaining Uganda's first Tier III Carrier Neutral Data Centre.

With over 20 years of experience in ISP, Data Centre, and Telco in Network Administration, Service, and Infrastructure Support, and Executive Management, James has comprehensive and in-depth Knowledge of Wireless, VSAT, and Cable Networks, Project Management of cross-functional projects in ISP and Telco related fields as well as Strategy and Planning Expertise on Voice, Video and Data Products.

James is a Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP), Juniper Network Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS), Cisco Certified Internet Professional (CCIP), ITIL Professional, and Extreme Networks Specialist (ENS).

Preceding his role at Raxio Data Centre, James served as a Founding Director and Chief Technical Officer at Roke Telecom before being promoted to Chief Operations Officer in charge of sales, marketing, business development, product development, administration, and strategic planning department all for a period of 9 years and 5 months.

James sits on several boards including the Board of Fontes Foundation Uganda which is a Non-Government Organisation that provides support to Orphanage groups, provides water to rural communities, and builds schools for rural communities; projects currently handled are in the Kanungu, Katungulu, and Kampala Areas.

In addition, he also sits on the board of the ICT Association of Uganda (ICTAU) which is a multi-stakeholder initiative formed by private individuals from Uganda, with the vision of providing professional guidance to individuals and organizations in the private sector, as well as offering advisory services to the government on policy-based issues.

Andrew also served as the Chief Sales &and marketingOfficer at CSquared Uganda and currently sits on the boards of Fund House Limited and BINS Uganda. He holds a BA (Hons) in Political Science from Makerere University Kampala, an Executive MBA and a certificate in Business Intelligence &

Kenneth is an IT enthusiast, especially in the innovation space, and consultancy services, and worked on various projects across the region and beyond in the IT sector, with an interest in areas of Business Development and trade both with Governments and the Private sector, this is enhanced by his personal and strong business relationships all across the Region and beyond.
Kenneth is a family man and a Rotarian, one of his passions is to serve and work with the less advantaged in the communities.

Meg Hilbert Jaquay wears many hats. She is the MD of Jakana Foods Ltd, an all-natural food processing and packaging solutions company based in Kawempe Uganda specializing in dried fruit, juice and sauces, and jams.

Since 2022, she has also served as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Uganda, and As the Chairperson of the AGOA Exporters Association of Uganda, she has become an expert at the requirements to export from Africa to the USA.

Her mission is to use her 35+ years of project management experience to grow businesses. She began her career in 1985 in Silicon Valley working in Artificial Intelligence. As a process engineer, her experiences make her a unique, efficient expert.

She was born in New York and has been living in Kampala for over 10 years.

Amos is a Principal ICT Officer in the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance. He is an experienced IT professional with 15 years of experience managing projects integrating ICT into government operations. He is passionate about utilising IT tools to generate and manage data that can guide and inform policy decisions. Amos has also contributed to the development of ICT policies and laws in Uganda, most notably the Cyber Acts and the Personal Data Protection and Privacy Act.

In his current role, he is managing the development of a five-year digital transformation roadmap for Uganda. The roadmap focuses on utilising digital tools and the data generated within as a catalyst for the country's economic transformation, which is also his passion- socioeconomic transformation driven by ICT.

Namureba Abel, the country manager for Yellow Card Uganda, has expertise in business development, compliance, and finance in both traditional and fintech ecosystems. He holds a degree in Accounting and Finance and is presently enrolled at Edinburgh University in the UK to complete an MBA. Abel has a track record of accomplishment, having won the African Youth Leadership Forum's Leadership Award and the Blockchain Association of Uganda's 4th Industrial Revolution Tech Award.

Abel's prior professional experience includes working as a junior associate with Standard Chartered Bank through Challenges Uganda, where he supported the expansion of SMEs. He also performed important duties in tax collection for the Uganda Revenue Authority as a client assistant and enforcement officer.

Abel enjoys fellowships, karaoke, painting, and thrilling activities like go-karting, bungee jumping, and skydiving when he isn't working. His personal motto, "work as though you're working for the Lord," which reflects his principles and working style, guides his work ethic.

Monica is the Deputy Director – Information Systems and Head of Department at Kampala Capital City Authority. Monica is a Systems Engineer, one of the pioneer ICT professionals in Uganda with over 18 years of progressive work experience. Monica has risen through the ladders from a Systems Administrator in 2005, to a Systems Analyst/Programmer and is currently an ICT professional strategic leader and member of the National Digital Transformation Programme.

She has experience working with Government agencies, and the World Bank as well as experience in private-sector enterprise development. She has been instrumental in introducing technologies that enhance efficiency in Government operations, the key point being the Electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system now adopted by the Ugandan Government.

Monica holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications from the University of Mysore (India), a postgraduate diploma in Management on top of a Bachelor of science (Maths, Physics, Education) from Makerere University. She is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, and Certified Ethical Hacker. She has good knowledge of climate change and grants management and she is blessed with extraordinary analytical ability, technical knowledge, and good leadership skills.

On the humanitarian side, Monica is a passionate Rotarian who believes in making the world a better place by lifting those in need.

Telecom Engineer and Program Manager with extensive experience in Access and Backhaul connectivity solutions. Career spanning major mobile and Enterprise networks, and working with open-access network models.

I hold certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Program Management Professional (PgMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), along with being a Certified Google Cloud-Digital Leader. I'm also a proud member of the PMI.

As the Chief Technical Officer at CSquared, I currently lead network design, deployment, and operations in Uganda. I am also actively involved in supporting expansion projects in Togo, DRC, and the Equiano project.

Previously, during my tenure at Google as a Program Manager for Access Africa, I spearheaded significant network growth and introduced innovative solutions in fiber and WiFi access.

My career journey includes pivotal roles at Airtel, where I led the nationwide Transmission network merger and introduced cutting-edge DWDM fiber backbones, and at Warid Telecom, where I led the way in transmission network design, upgrades, and interconnect initiatives.

With a B. Eng. in Telecommunications Engineering, my core passion revolves around building, transforming, and innovating for sustainable open-access connectivity.

Mark is the Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at ATC Uganda and doubles as the Company Secretary. In his role, he is tasked with offering legal advice to the Company in line with the business objectives, drafting an array of agreements, engaging with key stakeholders, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Mark also looks after the Public Affairs and Security functions of the Company.

Prior to joining ATC in 2018, Mark worked as an Associate in the Corporate Advisory team of MMAKS Advocates, one of Uganda’s leading law firms, where he began his legal career.
Mark has previously been on secondments to Anjarwalla & Khanna in Nairobi, one of Africa’s top law firms, as well as to Slaughter and May in London. Mark has also previously served as a member of the Inhouse Lawyers Committee of the Uganda Law Society.

Mark holds a Masters Degree in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge, a Post Graduate Diploma in Revenue and Tax Administration from the East Africa School of Taxation, and a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University. Mark is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and has over 10 (ten) years of experience as a legal practitioner.

With over ten years of experience in carpentry, marketing, interior design, and community development through skilling, Evelyn brings a wealth of expertise to her role as General Manager of The American Chamber of Commerce of Uganda.

Passionate about empowering women and creating a more inclusive workspace, Evelyn founded the Fundi Women Initiative which aims to train and support women who have survived human trafficking, early marriages, and young motherhood, providing them with skills in carpentry and its value chain. By doing so, Evelyn strives to bring gender equality to the male-dominated industry and foster economic empowerment for women while creating valuable employment opportunities.

Evelyn's dedication and impact have not gone unnoticed. She received the Outstanding Community Social Impact Award in 2023 and was honored with the Women 4 Women Award for Best Businesswoman in Uganda in 2018. Her commitment to community development led her to become a Fellow through the U.S. Department of State's Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) at Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business in 2015. In addition, she served as President of the Uganda YALI Fellow Chapter from 2016 to 2017.

Evelyn's accomplishments have gained widespread recognition in the media, both internationally and locally. Her work has been featured on esteemed platforms such as CNN, CCTV, Notre Dame, and TRT World, contributing to her brand awareness and solidifying her reputation as a prominent figure in her field.
