With over ten years of experience in carpentry, marketing, interior design, and community development through skilling, Evelyn brings a wealth of expertise to her role as General Manager of The American Chamber of Commerce of Uganda. Passionate about empowering women and creating a more inclusive workspace, Evelyn founded the Fundi Women Initiative which aims to train and support women who have survived human trafficking, early marriages, and young motherhood, providing them with skills in carpentry and its value chain. By doing so, Evelyn strives to bring gender equality to the male-dominated industry and foster economic empowerment for women while creating valuable employment opportunities. Evelyn's dedication and impact have not gone unnoticed. She received the Outstanding Community Social Impact Award in 2023 and was honored with the Women 4 Women Award for Best Businesswoman in Uganda in 2018. Her commitment to community development led her to become a Fellow through the U.S. Department of State's Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) at Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business in 2015. In addition, she served as President of the Uganda YALI Fellow Chapter from 2016 to 2017.

Ms. Tracy is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience and a robust educational background. She holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Laws from Makerere University Kampala. Ms. Tracy is recognized as an advocate of the High Court and all subordinate courts in Uganda, with over a decade of law practice. She is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Corporate Governance (formerly ICSA U.K), having excelled with a Merit in corporate strategy.

Her career highlights include pioneering Uganda's first online procurement monitoring system (PPMS) under FINMAP 2, funded by the World Bank during her tenure with the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development. Since joining Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) in 2013, Ms. Tracy has made significant contributions in various roles within the Business Policy Division and the Objections Unit. She possesses a deep understanding of tax law, evidenced by her flawless track record of over 800 rulings, none of which have been successfully challenged by taxpayers in court.

Currently, Ms. Tracy is a supervisor in Rulings, Policy, and Interpretations at URA, where she applies her disciplined, detail-oriented approach to her work. She prides herself on being loyal, trustworthy, innovative, and creative in her professional endeavors. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, playing golf, and swimming, reflecting her diverse interests and active lifestyle.

John currently serves as the Managing Partner at Side B Group, an asset management firm
specializing in early-stage risk within African technology. He boasts two decades of experience
in the East African investment landscape, with a background encompassing work and residence
in emerging markets such as the Czech Republic, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Thailand, and
Vietnam.

Side B Group's primary focus lies in investment management, where they operate a $100 million
early-stage technology fund dedicated to Africa with ambitions to become the continent's largest
early-stage backer, managing $1 billion in assets under management (AUM) by 2030.
Prior to his tenure at Side B, John's career included roles at Amani Partners, the U.S. Overseas
Private Investment Corporation (OPIC, now Development Finance Corporation - DFC), USAID's
Development Credit Authority (DCA), and large NGOs involved in housing, media, broadcasting,
and international development.

John's educational background comprises a BA in Agricultural Resource Economics & Statistics
from UC Davis in California, an MBA in Finance from George Washington University's School of
Business, and an MA in International Affairs from George Washington University's Elliott School
of International Affairs. Beyond his professional achievements, he's a father of two, a loving
partner, and considers East Africa his home.

Ankit brings over 10 years of post-qualification experience to his role as Senior Manager – Tax Consulting at Grant Thornton. This includes 7 years in Uganda, where he has provided specialized tax and advisory services across diverse sectors of the economy. Ankit holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Chartered Accountant of India.

His core areas of practice encompass tax compliances, strategic tax planning, meticulous tax law interpretations, and representing clients before tax and appellate authorities. He has successfully contributed to numerous client assignments, highlighting his expertise and commitment to delivering impactful solutions in his field.

Solomon leverages over 8 years of post-qualification experience across diverse industrial sectors. Formerly with URA for 7 years, Solomon now serves as Manager – Tax Legal at Grant Thornton. His expertise lies in providing meticulous tax compliance and advisory services on legal matters. Solomon holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

He excels in advising clients on both domestic and international taxation. Solomon's current focus areas include developing and evaluating tax policies, engaging stakeholders such as the Ministry of Finance, Uganda Investment Authority, Ministry of Justice, and various international bodies like USAID, IMF, World Bank, ODI, IGC, and ICTD. Additionally, he is proficient in drafting Private Rulings, demonstrating his adeptness in navigating intricate tax legalities.

Rachel K. Sebudde is a seasoned development economist, currently working with the World
Bank’ Africa Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment Global Practice. She has over 20 years of
policy oriented economic policy research, macroeconomic policy formulation, management,
implementation.
During her time at the World Bank, some of her areas of focus included understanding
economic growth and growth inclusiveness, efficiency of public investment management and
expenditure policies, trade, and financial sector development. In addition, she has been at the
fore front of engagement and dialogue between the World Bank and other stakeholders in
economic development in Uganda. She has published her work widely and delivered numerous
public lectures for policy and academic audiences. Prior to joining the World Bank, Rachel
worked with Bank of Uganda.
Rachel is a fellow of the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and
Southern Africa (MEFMI) and is affiliated to the Centre for African Studies, Oxford University,
and the Africa Economic Research Consortium. She attained her academic credentials from
Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda; and McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
