Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the United States, celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. It originated as a harvest festival. Thanksgiving has been celebrated nationally since 1789, with a proclamation by George Washington after a request by Congress.

With the ever increasing number of Americans in Uganda, the American Chamber of Commerce has always found it prudent to organize the Thanksgiving celebrations for them, Members and well-wishers to come together and celebrate the American way.

This year, more than ever, Thanksgiving will hold more meaning at the end of the year that has immensely challenged the world over.


The Chamber organizes this event through sponsor-ships and donations from its Members and other parties. At the event, raffle draws are held and proceeds given to selects Charity organizations/ NGOs to help the disadvantaged people within our community. This year, the Celebrations will take place on Friday 13th November 2020 at Sheraton Hotel.
