Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs and Company Secretary at ATC Uganda.
With over 12 years of legal experience, including roles at top law firms in Uganda, Kenya, and the UK, Mark brings strong expertise in legal advice, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

He holds a Masters Degree in Corporate Law from the University of Cambridge and is pursuing an Executive MBA at Strathmore University Business School

Mark’s priorities for AmCham Uganda include:
• Using his strong stakeholder relationships to advocate for member business interests.
• Developing a clear stakeholder engagement strategy to boost collaboration.
• Supporting AmCham’s policy advocacy to tackle members’ challenges.
• Building partnerships to offer relevant industry training and raise AmCham’s profile.
• Growing AmCham’s membership.

Mark’s leadership and legal expertise will help AmCham Uganda advance its mission and better serve its members.

Isaac has been an actively engaged member of the AmCham Board. He brings legal expertise, strategic insight, and a strong commitment to growth to the AmCham Uganda Board. A key contributor across governance, membership, and policy engagement, Isaac has helped shape a more dynamic and connected Chamber.
He has provided trusted legal guidance on compliance and governance, ensuring the Chamber operates with transparency and accountability. His leadership in membership growth has been hands-on, directly recruiting new members, with three joining through his outreach efforts.
Isaac also spearheaded the proposal for the AmCham Summit, playing a central role in engaging the Minister of State for Investment, who went on to represent Uganda at the 2024 AmCham Summit in Kenya. His advocacy secured a commitment from the Minister to support future AmCham-government collaboration.
Looking ahead, Isaac continues to champion the idea of hosting the AmCham Summit in Uganda in 2026, reinforcing his vision for a more visible, influential, and well-connected Chamber.

Hassan Segujja is the Regional Sales Director for East Africa at Abbott. He oversees business in seven countries, including Uganda. He has strong experience in healthcare, working on projects for HIV, malaria, and improving health systems.
Hassan lives in Kampala and is studying for an MBA at Robert Gordon University. He also has a degree in Business Development from Makerere University and a Diploma in Orthopedic Medicine.
If chosen for the AmCham Uganda Board, Hassan plans to:
● Use his regional experience to help grow AmCham’s business and trade across borders.
● Build connections with U.S. companies, governments, and donors to encourage investment and innovation.
● Share industry knowledge to support good business policies.
● Take an active role in the Business Development Committee to bring value to members.
● Support community projects through mentoring and working with partners.

Hassan is dedicated to creating growth and partnerships that help AmCham and its members succeed.

Uthman Mayanja has over 25 years of audit and advisory experience across Uganda, Kenya, and the UK. His expertise spans banking, insurance, energy, agribusiness, and international finance, giving him both regional insight and a global perspective. Known for his strategic thinking and governance expertise, Uthman is a strong advocate for ethical and impactful business practices.
As a Board member, Uthman aims to:
• Broaden and deepen stakeholder engagement to strengthen AmCham’s influence.
• Lead focused efforts on tax policy and administration affecting members.
• Help members better understand market opportunities driven by government policy.
• Collaborate with the U.S. Embassy to promote trade between Uganda and the U.S.
• Serve as a visible and active ambassador for AmCham Uganda.
Uthman’s leadership, experience, and commitment make him a valuable asset to AmCham’s continued growth.

Paul Mwirigi has over 15 years of experience in marketing, communications, and business leadership across East Africa. He has led successful campaigns for top agencies and global brands, focusing on brand growth, partnerships, and team development. Paul is a member of several professional bodies, including CIPR (UK), CIM (UK), and PRAU, and brings a mix of international standards and local understanding to his work.
He is passionate about using communication to support community development, business growth, and stakeholder engagement.
If re-elected to the AmCham Board, Paul will:
● Improve member engagement through monthly networking events in key sectors like agribusiness, tech, and healthcare.
● Support business development by using his networks to attract investment and increase market access for members.
● Help strengthen U.S.–Uganda trade ties by working with key partners on policy and trade regulations.
● Grow AmCham’s membership by 20%, with a focus on small businesses in high-growth sectors.
● Offer communications support to the Secretariat, including mentorship and strategy development.
● Promote sustainability through a “Green Business Series” to help members adopt eco-friendly business practices.
Paul is dedicated to helping AmCham become a leading platform for business growth, strategic partnerships, and impactful communication in Uganda and the region.

Lagrima A. Klein-Byamugisha has over 11 years of experience in administration, operations, and finance in the tourism and NGO sectors. She is currently the Business Development Manager at a top safari company. Lagrima is known for her strategic thinking, calm leadership, and focus on community growth.
Having worked in both Europe and Africa, she is passionate about local solutions that promote sustainable development and empower communities. She values wellness, problem-solving, and efficiency in her work and life.
If elected to the AmCham Uganda Board, Lagrima plans to:
• Support tourism growth and promote cultural heritage.
• Champion sustainability, conservation, and inclusive economic growth.
• Help build skills and support community projects.
• Create opportunities for business networking and investment.
• Promote AmCham’s goals through active advocacy and engagement.

Lagrima brings a values-driven approach focused on innovation, impact, and teamwork.

Joshua combines deep tech expertise and business leadership to advance Uganda’s digital economy. With experience leading AI operations and building high-performing teams across Africa, he brings a strong focus on ethical innovation and scalable growth.
His key priorities include:
1. Positioning Uganda as a top destination for AI and BPO to attract U.S. investment and create jobs.
2. Aligning talent development with global market needs to support sustainable tech growth.
3. Advocating for tech-friendly policies and improved digital infrastructure.
4. Promoting responsible AI adoption across critical sectors.
5. Establishing a Technology & Innovation Committee to unify and guide Uganda’s tech ecosystem.
Joshua is committed to building a digitally competitive Uganda that fosters inclusive growth and trusted innovation.

Anil Patel is the Executive Chairman and founding partner of Grant Thornton Uganda. He has helped the firm grow for over 25 years, providing audit, tax, and advisory services. Anil is an expert in corporate governance and served three terms on the Board of the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda. He also led the Membership and
Business Development Committee and started Uganda’s first Corporate Governance Awards.

Anil is a Director of the Integrity Club of Uganda, helped start the Practical Skills Development Academy at Grant Thornton, and is part of the Presidential Investors’ Roundtable group on Competitiveness.
If elected to the AmCham Uganda Board, Anil plans to:
• Use his network to boost trade and investment between the U.S. and Uganda.
• Promote ethical and sustainable business practices.
• Support small businesses and startups with mentoring and advice.
• Take part in AmCham events and advocacy to support members.
• Help improve workforce skills through training and internships.
Anil is committed to good governance, entrepreneurship, and growing the economy for everyone

Ken Stober is the CEO of Simplifi Networks, a leading supplier of network and communications equipment across East and Central Africa. He has a strong background in technology, having worked at top global companies like 3Com, Intel, and Microsoft in areas such as product development, research, marketing, and business growth.
Ken founded Simplifi Networks in 2014 with no customers or products, and has grown it into a multi-million-dollar business serving clients in telecoms, agriculture, NGOs, refugee settlements, hotels, and more. Simplifi is now a Regional Authorized Economic Operator with the Uganda Revenue Authority and the World Customs Organization. The company is proudly 100% corruption-free.
Ken brings deep experience in both business and leadership. He is also the private sector chair for the Overseas Security Advisory Council and has judged the Mandela Washington Fellowship for four years in the business category.
If elected, Ken will:
● Help grow AmCham by ensuring members see real value from their membership.
● Push for stronger policy engagement, including working with lobbyists and helping shape policies before they are written.
● Strengthen ties with the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. government to attract more American investment into Uganda.
● Relaunch the "Made in USA" program to showcase the value of U.S.–Uganda partnerships.
● Advocate strongly against corruption and promote ethical business practices.
● Encourage AmCham and its members to give back to their communities.
Ken is committed to making AmCham more effective, more connected, and a stronger voice for business in Uganda.

Kirunda Magoola is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in driving business, investment, and public-private initiatives across East Africa. His work with major organizations like Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda, British American Tobacco, UMEME, and Kinyara Sugar Limited reflects a strong track record in strategy, operations, and stakeholder engagement.
Kirunda’s vision for AmCham Uganda is centered on five key priorities:
● Foster Strategic Partnerships – Strengthen ties between American businesses, Ugandan institutions, and global investors.
● Promote Policy Advocacy – Champion a business-friendly policy environment through constructive engagement.
● Enhance Member Services – Deliver value through networking, support, and tailored business solutions.
● Boost Visibility and Branding – Raise AmCham’s profile as a leading business voice.
● Champion Sustainability – Promote responsible practices aligned with economic and social impact.
